In this one day course you will forge your own BBQ tool set.
Starting from stock carbon steel material, you will be guided through the process of forging a three-piece BBQ tool set by our expert instructors, being taught in our signature step-by-step method to ensure each piece is crafted to the best of your abilities.
On this course you will make the following:
- BBQ Tongs
- BBQ Spatula / Flipper
- BBQ Meat Turner
While we do have a standardised design, some elements will be customisable to suit your particular needs and preferences.
No prior experience is necessary.
Agenda
- Introduction to forge safety, use of gas forge & PPE
- Forging out grippers of BBQ Tongs
- Drawing out stock handles for BBQ Spatula & Meat Turner
- Forging of BBQ Meat Turner
- Profile grinding of Tongs grippers
- Bending & finalising BBQ Tongs
- Cutting & Twisting of BBQ Meat Turner & Spatula handles
- Finalising BBQ Spatula & Meat Turner
- Cleaning, brushing & oiling finished BBQ Set
At the end of the course you will go home with a fully finished BBQ tool set that you have made yourself, suitable for a lifetime of use.

Timings / Admin
- The day will begin at 1000, and run until approximately 1700.
- Safety equipment is provided, but please ensure that you wear non-flammable clothing and sturdy shoes (preferably leather).
- Tea / Coffee / Biscuits will be provided. There are many local shops/cafes nearby for lunch.
- Please note, due to space and safety issues, spectators are not permitted on these courses.
