FAQs
Where are you located?
Boneyard London is situated in an industrial area in South Wimbledon/Merton. Our full address is:
Unit 16 Windsor Park, 50 Windsor Avenue, London, SW19 2TJ.
We are approximately a 12 minute walk from both South Wimbledon & Collier’s Wood tube stations, a 10 min walk from Morden Road tram station, and Wimbledon railway station is a short walk/bus away.
Regular bus routes operate with stops a few minutes walk from the workshop.
What are the guidelines for taking part?
Our workshops can be physically demanding and have the potential for minor injury. Therefore, please seek advice from your doctor or our booking team if you’re unsure.
Be sure to dress accordingly, remembering that in the colder months it can get pretty chilly inside the workshop, despite the forges! Please wear non-flammable clothing and suitable footwear.
Please ensure you review the guidance on our website and what’s sent to you ahead of the event. And always listen to the instructions of our expert team on the day.
What is your course availability (e.g. weekdays / weekends)?
We operate seven days a week and schedule courses on varied days throughout the calendar. Where possible, we try to have a reasonable split between weekday and weekend courses, reflecting the wishes of some customers.
Weekends do tend to book out sooner than our weekday courses, so if this is a desire we would strongly advise booking as soon as possible after receiving a voucher for greatest chance of securing your preferred date(s).
We offer no guarantee of securing specific dates and/or times. All bookings are dependent on the course calendar, availability, and the voucher validity period.
Is there parking on site?
Due to this being an operational industrial unit, there is limited customer parking available at the workshop. We have a few spaces available, and these will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Alternatively the “Just Park” app offers driveways in the local area for a very reasonable price, which many past students have found extremely beneficial. We would strongly recommend this option if you are driving to us.
For those travelling by bicycle, there are safe spaces available to store your bike out the back of the workshop.
Is there accommodation nearby?
Being near Wimbledon, there are a variety of local hotel options within easy transport distance.
The Premier Inn Wimbledon South is our closest hotel, which many students have found reasonably priced and comfortable. This hotel is a 6 minute walk from our workshop.
How do we transport finished products home?
We will provide materials to wrap the products safely. Please ensure you bring a bag/rucksack to carry the items home in, particularly if you are using public transport.
What are the catering facilities like on site?
The kettle will be boiled and ready for your arrival in the morning. Coffee, Tea, and biscuits will be available at any time during the day, as required.
We will have small breaks as the work allows, and will have a break for lunch in the middle of the day, typically around 45 minutes.
There are many local places (café’s, supermarkets etc.) within a 5-10 minute walk, and we do have an office/reception area should you wish to bring your own lunch or arrange for external catering.
Can I bring a guest / spectator?
Please note that due to space and safety reasons with this being an operational forge, spectators are not permitted on these courses.
