FAQs
How long are the Gift Vouchers valid?
All gift vouchers are valid for nine months from the date of order. The course must be booked and attended during this validity period.
We are pleased to be able to offer a three month validity extension option upon request for a small fee, for those who require a little extra time to book in.
Where are you located?
Boneyard London is situated in an industrial area in South Wimbledon/Merton. Our full address is:
Unit 16 Windsor Park, 50 Windsor Avenue, London, SW19 2TJ.
We are approximately a 12 minute walk from both South Wimbledon & Collier’s Wood tube stations, a 10 min walk from Morden Road tram station, and Wimbledon railway station is a short walk/bus away.
Regular bus routes operate with stops a few minutes walk from the workshop.
What time should I arrive?
Please arrive at the workshop no earlier than 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. Prior to this, we will be busy setting up for the course to ensure as smooth a day as possible. Should you happen to arrive earlier (recognising how travel into/around London can be!), there are many local coffee shops & café's nearby.
Upon arrival please come upstairs to our reception/office area where you can drop your bags/coats and check in for the day.
When are your courses held?
We run courses daily, and have weekday and weekend options for most courses.
All dates and availabilty are held on our website at the following link:
https://boneyardlondon.com/pages/experiences
Please navigate to the specific course, and you'll see a drop-down 'Dates' menu on the course-specific page.
We add new dates regularly, so if your preferred date is not there, please get in touch.
What are the guidelines for taking part?
Our workshops can be physically demanding and have the potential for minor injury. Therefore, please seek advice from your doctor or our booking team if you’re unsure.
Please ensure you review the guidance on our website and what’s sent to you ahead of the event. And always listen to the instructions of our expert team on the day.
What should I wear?
Full safety equipment is provided, but please ensure that you have non-flammable clothing (e.g. no shellsuit material. Denim/Cotton etc is fine) and closed shoes/boots (no open toes/sandals etc.). Shorts/T-shirts are acceptable in warmer weather.
In the colder months the workshop can get chilly when the forge is not on, so please layer up.
Is there parking on site?
Due to this being an operational industrial unit, there is limited customer parking available at the workshop. We have a few spaces available, and these will be on a first come, first serve basis.
Alternatively the “Just Park” app offers driveways in the local area for a very reasonable price, which many past students have found extremely beneficial. We would strongly recommend this option if you are driving to us.
For those travelling by bicycle, there are safe spaces available to store your bike out the back of the workshop.
Is there accommodation nearby?
Being near Wimbledon, there are a variety of local hotel options within easy transport distance.
The Premier Inn Wimbledon South is our closest hotel, which many students have found reasonably priced and comfortable. This hotel is a 6 minute walk from our workshop.
What are the catering facilities like on site?
The kettle will be boiled and ready for your arrival. Coffee, Tea, and biscuits will be available at any time during the day, as required.
We will have small breaks as the work allows, and will have a break for lunch in the middle of the day, typically around 45 minutes.
There are many local places (café’s, supermarkets etc.) within a 5-10 minute walk, and we do have an office/reception area should you wish to bring your own lunch or arrange for external catering.
What is the maximum number of people allowed?
We limit our public courses to a maximum of 8 people in our workshop at one time.
Selected courses run with a smaller maximum limit due to course requirements and access to equipment.
How do I transport the products home?
We will provide materials to wrap the products safely. Please ensure you bring a bag/rucksack to carry the items home in, particularly if you are using public transport.
Do you allow spectators?
Please note that due to space and safety reasons with this being an operational forge, spectators are not permitted on these courses under any circumstances.
