In this one day class you will be guided through the process of forging a knife, commonly known as a Viking, or Blacksmith's knife:
Walking you the process, with each step demonstrated live by our instructor, you will learn the skills and techniques necessary to produce a stunning item.  This is a one piece item, with an integrated steel handle, as can be seen from the pictures.
The agenda for the day will look like this:
Morning
- Introduction, guide to forge safety, PPE, and use of a gas forge
 - Viking knife - drawing out the handle
 - Forging the blade to shape

Afternoon
- Profiling the blade
 - Shaping the handle
 - Heat treating (incl. normalising & hardening)
 - Blade finishing, grinding and sharpening.

No prior experience is necessary, and is ideal as a "first step" into bladesmithing.
At the end of the day you will go home with a fully finished and sharp knife that you have made yourself.
